My family has been producing wine for centuries. During Stalin’s regime of the 1920’s part of my family were exiled to Siberia, my birthplace and where I lived for 30 years. In the late 1980’s, during perestroika, the family was allowed to move back to Armenia where I learned her family’s secrets recipes. After migrating to Bellingham I saw an opportunity to plant a vineyard, build the winery and tasting room to create the wines. I always knew wine making is where I want to be, and what I want to do. Bellingham was love at first sight. Everything I dreamt about in Russia and Armenia, about where I would love to spend the rest of my life and what to do - is right here now. |
