                                            ARMENIAN WINES
Archaeologists from UCLA have
discovered what they believe is the
world’s oldest winery. The site is located
in Armenia and was operated about 6100
years ago.

An apparent wine press and fermentation
vat (right) emerge during a dig in Armenia.

My family has been producing wine for centuries. During Stalin’s
regime of the 1920’s part of my family were exiled to Siberia, my
birthplace and where I lived for 30 years. In the late 1980’s, during
perestroika, the family was allowed to move back to Armenia where I
learned her family’s secrets recipes. After migrating to Bellingham I
saw an opportunity to plant a vineyard, build the winery and tasting
room to create the wines.
I always knew wine making is where I want to be, and what I want to
do.  Bellingham was love at first sight. Everything I dreamt about in
Russia and Armenia, about where I would love to spend the rest of my
life and what to do - is right here now.
