Lorna Libert’s captivating oil paintings depict local subject matter with a style
that is bold and painterly. Her work will be featured in the tasting room Gallery
beginning July 24th, 2010.
Set in dramatic landscapes, Lorna paints weathered boats, rusting trucks and
crooked old structures with charisma and attitude. Personified portraits of birds
and animals are also a part of her repertoire. Through bold color and thick
strokes of paint, Libert emphasizes the tactile quality of her subjects while
describing the movement and feeling of the environment. By adding a subtle
twist in perspective, she creates an all-encompassing space that is both
intriguing and inviting. Her work has been well-received in Galleries and
Museums in NY, CA, OR, WA, AK and Canada. Her paintings are in private and
public collections world wide.

Island University in NY, and in 1997 received her MFA at Central WA University.
