Growing up in Ukraine and in a multinational country like The
Soviet Union I gained different cultural influences from my
neighbors. There were nice Jewish moms with an ability to
cook something very tasty with inexpensive ingredients. I still
love to use their favorite recipes, especially for the stuffed
fish. Such a joyous temperament these people have! Their
cuisine is the same. The dish of shishki-bob and soup Kharcho
make you dance and sing. Armenians! Their meat dishes with a
variety of greens, spices and veggies will bring you to the
peek of Mt. Ararat. Usbekistanians with their famous dish of
pilof (meat, rice, carrots, onions and different spices). Cooking
is not daily rutine for me. I love being able to entertain family
and friends allowing me to create and utilize different flavors
and presentations.
I hope you will like it too.
Your respectfully,
Chef Alla
Alla'sCozy Cuisines at the Winery
Many of you know Alla, as chef of the wonderful Chocolate
Necessities and Gelato shop at Cornwall Avenue in The Public
Market. She invented a lot of delightful recipes for Gelato. Her
famous Port Wine gelato and Cherry Mania gelato spread a lot of
mouth watering talk around town!
I named my service Cozy Cuisines. Why?
I am originally from Ukraine. Cozy, in my
translation from English to Ukrainian
means comfort. Ukrainians like to eat
and always feel comfortable around
good food. That is what I want to share
with you. My passion for cooking started
very early in my childhood.
